Revellers in the United Kingdom are set to feast on a mouth watering lineup of Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Fungisai and Oliver Mtukudzi in London (Friday) and Leicester (Saturday) under the Y2K SAMA UK festival
On Wednesday the artists (minus Tuku) took part in a press conference at the Holiday Inn (Kensington, London). Various media organisations based in the UK attended. Nehanda TV will in the next few days upload interviews done with Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Fungisai.
Even with tickets retailing at £40, demand has been high. The superstar line-up will be belting their hits in London at the Oasis (Post Code: IG11 OHZ.Time: 19:00 – 03:30) before taking their acts to the Leicester Arena (Post Code LE1 3UD. Time: 19:00 – 03:30).
The 2017 edition of the annual Southern Africa Music and Arts Festival (Sama) is hosted by Y2K Entertainment and has been dubbed the “Thriller Tour”. Established in 2000, Y2K is made up of Alex Marapara and former air traffic controller in Zimbabwe, Fred Matenga
This year has seen Y2K recruit PR and brand consultant Danai Mavunga who runs LIT Management. The results were immediate with probably the first ever press conference being organised for visiting Zimbabwean artists in the UK.
