Zimbabwe Youth Indigenisation and Economic Minister Patrick Zhuwao has defended cornered Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo saying there is nothing wrong with the donations he made to the Zanu PF Youth League.
The Zanu PF spindoctor, Moyo perceived as the ruling party’s chief strategist, is under siege for corruption and embezzlement of funds. Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Phangani Vocational Training Centre in Filabusi at the weekend Zhuwao slammed the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission for undermining the authority of President Robert Mugabe. Zhuwao, a declared member of the G-40 team said the allegations against Moyo were baseless. “We are not happy with what is happening to Professor Moyo.
How can people make noise about donations made to the Zanu PF Youth League. What evidence is there to prove that there is fraud. These claims are baseless and we will not tolerate that. This is an attempt to disrupt the flow of government programmes and activities. That is totally unacceptable. I do not mince my words because I am fully behind Professor Moyo. The detractors will be put to shame,” said Zhuwao.
Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko also defended Moyo accusing the ZACC officials of being sell outs, working with the anti-government elements to manufacture mayhem.
